I am a qualified Nurse and Midwife with over 40 years experience, I trained in England and relocated to New Zealand in 2005, I have worked as a Midwife in the Wairarapa since then.
I have three adult children who are all married with children of their own, and I used deep relaxation for all of my births which I enjoyed and recall with fond memories.
I qualified as a HypnoBirthing® practitioner through the HypnoBirthing® institute founded by Marie Mongan. I am also a Spinning Babies(R) Parent Class Educator.
My goal is to empower women to reclaim their ability to achieve a positive, gentle, calm birthing experience. This would also be suitable for families having surgical birth. To approach the birthday in a calm, relaxed, baby centred mindset allows a calm positive birth experience to be possible for all situations.
I will also offer families I work with who birth outside of Wairarapa a bio-degradable container (Ipu Whenua) for respectful burial of their placenta if they wish. Wairarapa families will be offered a free Ipu Whenua at the hospital when they birth or via their LMC Midwife if they birth at home.
